Church Conservation Trust Response

Complaiant 1 - 28th September 2020

Dear XXX, Acting Chairman Haltham Parish Meeting

Re: Issues arising from Haltham’s Meeting Declaration of Published Accounts for 1stApril 2019 to 31stMarch 2020 – Acting Chair’s response non acceptance.

Dear XXX

Thank you for your response to the issues I have raised which as of today, Monday 28thSeptember 2020, I do not accept.

Further to your response dated 25thSeptember 2020, following receipt of Mr YYY clarification relating to the issues I raised. Would you please forward me a copy of all original communications between you and Mr YYY in relation to this matter?

May I remind you that any requests made to a public authority will automatically become a FOIA request and your response will be considered against their guidelines.

Unaccounted for money

(Ref: Haltham Parish Meeting website Homepage, Parish information, Newsletters, 2019 February, Para: General

Mr YYY clearly states ‘The Carol Concert was well attended and proved great fun....It goes on to say‘Justover £100 was raised which was shared between the Church Conservation Trust, the Parochial Church Council and our Parish Funds’

Therefore will you please provide me with all documents that show how the money Mr YYY refers to was transferred to Haltham Parish Funds, how much money was received and where it was deposited?

Folk Concert

You also state in your response to me that:

‘I believe you once organised a folk concert, before my time, in line with these type of events, I understand it raised over £200, well done! Hopefully you can arrange one again in the future.’

Mr XXX you have been badly misinformed regarding this event. Please refer to the promotion poster/flyer below.

The Folk Concert was not organised by meit was organised by QQQ and WWW under the name ‘Lincolnshire Folk Sessions’

I was approached to ask if St Benedict’s Church would host the event which I agreed to. My name is associated with Information.

You then go on to state

‘If someone had issues with the money collected from that event, they would have spoken to you regarding that. Likewise I suggest if you have any questions regarding these two events you should speak to the organiser, YYY.’

I’m afraid you have been misinformed again in this respect. Any person raising issues in relation to the Folk Concert would have been provided with contact details of the event organisers to raise the issues with them not me.

If you intend to place your statements relating to the Folk Concert in the public domain I seriously urge you to reconsider the wording of it.

I look forward to receiving you response at your earliest convenience.

Yours sincerely

Response from Acting Chair 28.9.20

Dear Complainant 1,

Please see below response to the queries you raised in your letter dated 28thSeptember 2020.

     1. Re

I did not have a response from Mr XXX regarding your enquiry, as he was entertaining guests at the time and did not respond to my request for clarity. My response to your email was my own understanding the facts at the time. Nothing has changed my understanding since then.

  1. Unaccounted for money

The published accounts 1stApril 2019 to 31stMarch 2020 do not cover events before 1stApril 2019. Therefore reference to a Newsletter of February 2019 does not apply to these accounts. I understand all the money raised at the 2019 concert went to the CCT, but you would need to speak to the event organiser for clarity on this.

  1. Folk Concert

I stated that it was my belief that you organised this event. My point remains the same, if someone had an issue with the folk concert then they would have spoken to the event organiser not the chairman of the village meeting.

I now consider these matters to be concluded.

Yours truly,

Acting Chair, Haltham Parish meeting
